The JL CleanSweep is a digital audio processor that interfaces an original equipment manufacturer's vehicle audio system to after-sales speakers and amplifiers. Installing a JL CleanSweep lets you avoid the difficulty of removing and replacing a factory audio system in made-to-measure dashboard housing. The JL CleanSweep adjusts the audio from the factory system rather than modifying the electronic control unit. In this respect, the CleanSweep is portable from one vehicle to another and not reliant upon a specific car make.
Pop the hood, and disconnect the negative cable from the battery to avoid electrical damage during the JL CleanSweep installation. Insert the multiwired power connection cable into the power connector socket on the JL CleanSweep unit.
Connect the yellow wire on the power connector cable via a 1-amp fuse to the positive terminal on the car battery. Connect the black wire via grounding on the chassis to the neutral terminal on the car battery. Connect the red wire to the ignition. Connect the blue wire to the remote out for the amplifier.
Connect audio interconnect cables from the left and right front and rear output sockets to their respective sockets on your amplifier.
Insert the multiwired OEM input connector cable into the OEM input socket on the JL CleanSweep unit. Connect the black and white wires to the left front channel on the amplifier. Connect the gray and black wires to the right front channel. Connect the green and black wires to the left rear channel. Connect the purple and black wires to the right rear amplifier channel.
Insert an audio interconnect cable into the left and right auxiliary input sockets, and connect the two jacks to an additional auxiliary audio device to link it into the JL CleanSweep system.
Inset the two-wired master volume control cable into the control connector on the JL CleanSweep unit. Connect the LED wire to the source indicator LED. Connect the other wire to the supplied master volume control knob.
Mount the JL CleanSweep unit within the interior of vehicle using the screws provided. Mount the master volume control knob and the LED in an accessible place for you to see and use. Reconnect the negative cable to the car battery.
