Setting the radio presets on your Sony stereo provides a convenient method for switching between radio stations. Having the ability to jump right to a station that provide the kind of music and other content that you trust is truly beneficial when your primary focus is driving your vehicle. It's much better than seeking or scanning for stations. Sony radios have many features for performing a host of functions, yet setting the preset radio stations remains a relatively simple task.
Press the "SOURCE" button, located on the upper left corner of the Sony radio, to turn the stereo on.
Press "SOURCE" again to navigate to the tuner function ("TUNER" will show on the stereo display).
Press "MODE," located just below the "SOURCE" button, to select the band. Bands are segments within the tuner that group the stations. On the Sony radio there are three FM bands, and one AM band. You can set up to six stations on each band for a total of twenty-four preset frequencies, or radio stations.
Press the "SEEK/AMS" button on the lower right side of the Sony's face, to choose a frequency.
Press and hold the button labeled "1" when you have reached the frequency of the first station you would like to record as a preset station. The numbered buttons are located along the bottom of the stereo's display. Release the button when the word "MEM" appears in the display. The first station is preset.
Preset other stations by following the previous steps--seek the station, hold the numbered button, release when memorized by the radio. Switch bands (by pressing the "MODE" button) to preset more than six FM stations or to preset an AM station.
