Prius Dash Disassembly Guide

The Prius is a hybrid-electric mid-sized car designed and manufactured by Toyota. Models have been in production from 1997 through 2011. Disassembling the Prius dash may be carried out by non-professionals.

Under Dash Cover

  • Remove the underdash cover using a nylon-panel removal tool. The underdash cover is the found underneath the glove box on the passenger's side.

Glove Box Assembly

  • Remove the glovebox assembly by removing three screws with a 10-mm wrench. Disconnect the trunk-opener cancel switch. This is found inside the glove box.

Cowl Covers and Dash Covers

  • Remove the cowl covers on the driver and passenger sides. This is done by removing a nut located on the middle-top of the cowl. Remove the screw and bolt holding the lower dash-cover in place. These are found on the underside of the dash cover. Remove the lower dash-cover and the driver-side airbag assembly.
