How to Build a Mud Bogger Truck

Some people like to go "four wheeling." That is when you take a truck and drive it off-road. Mud bogging expanded on that. In this off-roading offshoot, drivers take their off-road vehicles and equip them to drive in deep muck and mud. In order to add all of the necessary parts and accessories to mud bog, you need to take your truck to a licensed mechanic to get the parts and accessories added correctly.

Things You'll Need

  • Lift kit
  • Tires
  • Vehicle snorkel
  • High-powered engine
  • Install a lift kit on the truck. The truck will sit higher off the ground than it naturally did, giving it more clearance so it does not get bogged down as quick.

  • Attach new tires, preferably ones that have large tread. When driving through large areas of mud, you want as much traction as possible.

  • Realign the exhaust. Add a vehicular snorkel to the exhaust so that the exhaust fumes will be shot out the top of the truck instead of at the bottom of the truck. Doing this ensures that the truck's exhaust will be able to breathe while deep in mud.

  • Add a new, high-powered engine. A high-powered engine will give your mud bogging truck more power to drive through deep mud and muck.
