A Denver auto boot, sometimes called a wheel clamp, is a the large metal boot you find on your car tire after failing to pay outstanding parking tickets. On top of this it can also be used for personal security. If you are really worried about theft of your car this might be a good option because it fits around the wheel of your car; preventing removal of the tire as well as use of the car. Removing it requires a special key.
Insert the key that comes with your boot into the keyhole on the front of the boot. Turn the key to unlock the boot.
Pull the part of the boot that covers the lug-nuts on your tire outward to release the boot. Then slide the boot off your tire. If you have difficulty prying the boot away from the tire, proceed to the next step.
Use your car jack to raise the car up a few inches on the side with the boot.
Use the air-intake valve to release some air in your tire. This will relieve pressure on the boot and you will be able to slide it off. Then refill the air in the tire.
