Programing a Viper 791XV replacement remote to your keyless entry system can give you peace of mind in the event something happens to the original; it also provides you with a spare in case you need to share the car. The programming process does not require any tools. You must simply enter the commands from the remote itself. Programming the remote to the system only takes a couple of minutes to complete.
Press the "Program" button on the back of the remote. You can also enter programming mode by holding down the four remote control buttons on the front of the remote simultaneously until you hear one long beep.
Press the button for each of the following commands: the "Locked" button programs "Illumination Mode," the "Unlocked" button programs "Beep/Vibrate Mode" and the asterisk button programs "Page Mode." Once you have entered programming mode, you have five seconds to program the first command; you then have five additional seconds program the next one.
Take no action for five seconds to exit programming mode. The remote control will beep twice to indicate that you have exited programming mode.
