How to Get Rid of Water Spots on Cars

A clean car says positive things about you, both as a disciplined motorist and a responsible person. Regular car washing could eliminate rapid rust build up and avoid the accumulation of dust and mud. Water spots are a different story. They are stubborn to remove since water sometimes has strong mineral contents like salt. The salt in water could lead to unsightly blemishes on the paint job. Drying your car after a rain is advisable.

Things You'll Need

  • Clean rag
  • Bucket
  • Water
  • White vinegar
  • Sponge
  • Car wax
  • Wipe the car surface with a clean cloth. Wiping will remove all the surface dust making your job easier.

  • Pour 1 liter of water into a bucket and add 1 liter of white vinegar.

  • Dip the sponge into the solution and wipe away slowly on the car surface. Wipe gently in a circular motion, concentrating and giving more time where the water spots are. White vinegar is a mild acidic substance and its PH level is safe enough to use on the car's paint job.

  • Apply the car wax onto the car's surface area. Car wax lets water slide off the car surface without leaving marks.
