How to Remove Swirl Marks From a Windshield

Even when your car's windshield looks spotless, it may actually be far from it. Sometimes the only way to know that your car windshield is dirty is when the sun has set and you have lights from other vehicles shining into your eyes. This is when you can see swirls on your windshield. Those swirls can be quite distracting and even dangerous if they are not removed. Thankfully, cleaning and removing those swirls from your windshield is a very simple process.

Things You'll Need

  • Clean squirt bottle
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Newspaper
  • Mix 1 part of vinegar to 2 parts of water directly into your squirt bottle. Give it a good shake to mix.

  • Spray the vinegar mixture directly onto your windshield.

  • Separate your newspaper into sheets and wad them up into balls that you can hold in your hand.

  • Wipe away the vinegar and water mixture by using your newspaper like a hand towel. Wipe up and down or in a circular pattern. As you wipe the vinegar mixture away the swirls will disappear.
