The Best Way to Clean My Ford Truck Cloth Seat

From muddy clothing to animals and even the fast food mishaps, dirt, grime and condiments seem to find their way into the cloth of the seats of your Ford truck. Luckily there are ways to clean the inside of your truck.

Shampoo

  • You can wash your Ford truck cloth seats in a similar as you would your hair. Mix the shampoo with water and submerge a sponge into the bubbly water. Squeeze out excess water and rub the sponge in circular motions around the cloth seating. You can use an upholstery brush for this as well. Rinse the cloth with small amounts of water, then use a wet-dry vac to remove the excess soap and water. Small portable wet-dry vacs can be purchased at home improvement stores for 20 to 30 dollars.

Upholstery Cleaner

  • In the cleaning aisle of a grocery store you can find upholstery cleaning spray. This spray can be used on couches as well as inside your Ford truck. It also is an odor neutralizer, which keeps your truck smelling clean. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth seat and let it sit for a few moments. Use a hand held vacuum (it does not need to be a wet-dry vac) and remove the foam and dirt from the cloth seats.

Vacuum and Fingernails

  • If the spot is nothing but dried dirt or hair, you do not need to use a great deal of time using upholstery cleaners or shampoos. Instead, your good old fingernails should suffice. Scratch off the dirt with your nails (if you don't have long enough nails your keys work also). Once you have removed the dirt you can use any vacuum you want to suck up the loose particles or hair that may be stuck to the car (dog hair likes to stick to cloth seats). With ample pressure from the vacuum the Ford truck seats should be as good as new.
