The 1988 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, named for the great desert in northern Africa, came in a handful of colors reminiscent of the desert sands during the day or of the cold, clear desert sky at night. All the finishes except one were metallic. The Sahara version of the Jeep Wrangler included fender flares that were the same color as the body, as well as special interior appointments and fog lights mounted on the front bumper.
The 1988 Jeep Wrangler Sahara color palette included Mocha Brown Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic, Ice Blue Metallic, Silver Metallic and Charcoal Gray Metallic. The single non-metallic finish available on the 1988 Sahara was beige.
