The paint code for the 1988 Volkswagen Fox resides on a label hidden under the trunk mat. On the label, it’s the group of two or four numbers, or numbers and letters, located to the right of the words “Paint No./Interior No.” Created in Brazil and manufactured for the Latin American and European market, the Volkswagen Fox enjoyed a brief, limited availability in the United States before production ceased in 2011.
The 1988 Fox didn’t come in white; it did come in Metallic Silver, however, and the paint code was 41. The paint codes for Brilliant Black were 9004, A2 or LY99B. Paint codes 9010, A1 and L041 were for a flatter black. Tornado Red’s paint code was 9301, 9310, G2 and LY3D. The alternate red, Paprika Red, had paint codes H7 and LK3A.
