The Expedition sat between the midsize Explorer and the heavy-duty Excursion in Ford's line of SUVs. In 2003, this large SUV had a pair of available V-8 engines: the 4.6-liter with 232 horsepower and the 5.4-liter with 260 horsepower. These two engines shared a firing order, and neither one used a distributor.
Both of the Expedition's V-8 engines have a firing order of 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. From the front, passenger side of the engine and moving clockwise around the engine, the cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4-8-7-6-5.
