What Type of Antifreeze Does a 1993 Cutlass Supreme Take?

The Olds Cutlass: yet another General Motors muscle car of yesteryear that morphed into more of a family car following the emissions crunch of the 1970s. The 1993 Cutlass Supreme was available with a potent-for-its-era 3.4-liter, DOHC, V-6 engine that cranked out 200 horsepower, but the base V-6 engine cancelled out this touch of adrenaline with just 140 horsepower.

Coolant Type and Capacity

  • Oldsmobile recommended using any ethylene-glycol-based -- green -- coolant meeting GM specification 1825M, and cool, clean water in a 50-50 mixture. With the 3.4-liter V-6 or the 3.1-liter V-6 with the three-speed transmission, the Cutlass' cooling system held 3.2 gallons. The 3.1-liter V-6 with the four-speed transmission held 3.1 gallons.
