The Kawasaki drive belt is a link that attaches the wheels to the engine, allowing vehicle movement. With an old drive belt, the engine loses its efficiency and effectiveness to power the wheels. Without a replacement, the drive belt will rip and eventually lead to a breakdown of your vehicle. To avoid an unexpected stall, replace the drive belt at recommended intervals or when the belt shows signs of wear and tear.
Remove the bolts holding the CVT cover in place with a wrench. Disconnect the attached wires and place in a retrievable location.
Remove your old drive belt from the front pulley using a Kawasaki drive pulley puller.
Replace with the new Kawasaki drive belt. Use the drive pulley to torque the belt to its recommended tension. The appropriate tension range should be located in your owner's manual and will differ depending on the model and model year of your Kawasaki.
Reattach the wires onto the CVT cover and bolt the cover back into place.
