How Do I Change My Ford Fiesta Brake Bulb?

The brake lights of your Ford Fiesta are crucial for letting other drivers know of your actions on the road. If drivers cannot see your brake lights, they have no indication when you are stopping or slowing your speed. The lack of warning can result in an accident. Replace the bulbs in your Fiesta’s brake lights as soon as you discover they have failed. The Ford Fiesta uses an 1157 brake light bulb available at most auto parts stores.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Open the trunk of your Fiesta. Remove the two screws inside the rear light assembly with a Phillips screwdriver.

  • Pull the taillight assembly out of the rear of the car. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the light assembly.

  • Twist the bulb counterclockwise, and remove it from the assembly. Insert the new bulb, and twist it clockwise to secure it. Push the wiring harness into place.

  • Position the light assembly within the mounting area. Secure the assembly with the two mounting screws. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Close the trunk, and test the brake lights.
