Knowing how to change the tires on your Chrysler 300C in an emergency is an important skill that will keep you from being stranded if you have a flat tire. Locating the spare, the jack and tools associated with the job are the first step. You must also know how to safety jack your car up and where to position the jack to avoid damage to the car. Familiarize yourself with all of this information so that when the time comes, you can change the tire quickly and safely and get back on the road.
Open the trunk of you Chrysler 300C and lift the floor using the strap on the rear edge of the board. The spare tire, jack and other tools are under this panel.
Locate the fastener securing the spare tire and turn it counterclockwise to remove it from the retaining bolt. Set the fastener aside and lift the spare tire out of the trunk, setting it on the ground. The jack that came with your car is located under the spare tire.
Remove the large wing nut securing the jack and lug wrench to the retaining bolt in the trunk, turning the wing nut counterclockwise until it is free of the bolt. Pull the jack and lug wrench out of the trunk.
Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that has the flat tire, using the lug wrench, but do not remove the lug nuts yet. Position the jack under the car in one of the approved jacking points (specified by your 300C manual): For a front tire, place the jack on the indent in the underside of the car just behind the front wheel well. For a rear tire, place the jack under the car just in front of the rear wheel well.
Raise the car with the jack, turning the screw on the jack clockwise with the lug wrench until the tire is completely off the ground. Remove the lug nuts from the wheel studs and slide the tire and wheel off the car. Set the tire aside for now.
Install the spare tire onto the wheel studs and replace the lug nuts on the wheel studs. Start the lug nuts by hand, so you do not cross-thread the threads on the studs or nuts.
Lower the jack, turning the screw on the jack counterclockwise with the lug wrench, until the tire is touching the ground. Remove the jack from under the body of the car.
Tighten the lug nuts with your lug wrench, then replace the lug wrench and jack on the retaining stud in the truck of the car. Install the wing nut and turn it clockwise with your hands to secure the jack and lug wrench.
Place the flat tire into the truck where the spare tire was. Secure it with the spare tire fastener, then replace the trunk floorboard. Close the trunk of the car.
