With all the different configurations of wiper blades used on cars today, their replacement can seem more like a puzzle than a car maintenance task. You can replace wiper blades on a Buick Century with a minimum of trouble. For the model years 1998 through 2005 all that is needed is a steady hand and a keen eye.
Start the car and turn on the windshield wipers.
Turn the car off with the key when the wipers reach the top of their stroke.
Raise the arm that holds the wiper blade and push the blade towards the windshield exposing a tab between the arm and the blade.
Pull the tab with your finger and at the same time push the wiper blade down toward the hood of the car to remove the wiper blade.
Place the hook at the end of the arm through the hole in the center of the new wiper blade and engage the tab by reversing the action described in step number five.
