How to Fill the Windshield Washer Fluid in a Nissan Pathfinder

Despite its rugged construction and precise engineering, your Nissan Pathfinder can't handle tough jobs without regular maintenance. Although it's not structurally important, keeping your Pathfinder's windshield fluid reservoir well-stocked allows for a much safer driving experience. You don't need any mechanical expertise or tools to complete the process, and it only takes a few minutes to do.

Things You'll Need

  • Funnel
  • Windshield washer fluid
  • Park your Pathfinder on level ground and shut off the engine.

  • Remove the keys from your Pathfinder's ignition and engage the emergency brake.

  • Use the hood release latch beneath the instrument panel to crack open the hood.

  • Approach the hood, reach under the center and pull up on the auxiliary release latch to open the engine bay.

  • Prop open the hood by removing the support rod from its restraining clip and placing it in the stay-hole on the underside of the hood.

  • Find the windshield washer fluid reservoir. It's located just above the coolant reservoir on the left side of the engine compartment.

  • Open the reservoir cap and place a funnel into the opening. Pour the additional washer fluid into the reservoir until it's full.

  • Remove the funnel, close the reservoir cap and lower the hood.
