How to Remove the Front Seat of a 99 Chrysler

The front seats in a 1999 Chrysler are mounted to the floorboard as bucket seats. There are four bolts holding the entire seat assembly to the floor. Removal of the seat will only take a few minutes to complete. Replacement seats can be purchased online or at any automotive parts store. If the seats are torn, then an accomplished upholstery shop can repair damaged seats.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket set
  • Socket wrench
  • Ensure the front seat is pulled all the way forward. Locate the two bolts on the back of the seat on the floorboard.

  • Unscrew the two bolts with a socket wrench. Save all the hardware such as bolts, washers and any spacers.

  • Push the seat all the way back to access the two bolts in the front. Unscrew the two bolts with a socket wrench.

  • Tilt the seat forward against the dash to access any wiring. Disconnect any wiring harnesses that are attached by pulling the locking tab on the connector back and pulling away from the connected wiring.

  • Lift the seat out of the car. Place the seat in a dry covered area.
