How to Program a Ford Taurus Radio

Most drivers love to listen to music, hear the news and weather reports, or catch their favorite talk shows when they're in a car. You can program six AM stations plus six FM stations in a Ford Taurus. That way, instead of searching for your favorite radio stations when you're in the car, they'll be just a button push away.

  • Locate the large round power/volume knob button at the far left of the radio controls. Push the button in once to turn the Ford Taurus radio on.

  • Choose AM or FM radio stations. Push the AM or FM button located directly to the right of the power/volume knob.

  • Find the scan button at the far right side of the control panel. It's at the end of the memory preset buttons marked 1 through 6. Press the scan button to hear short samples of all the stations the Ford Taurus radio can pick up. After it's pushed once, the scan button works automatically. It continues to scan from one station to the next until you stop it.

  • Find the seek button located directly below the large round power/volume knob button. Push the seek button if you know what your favorite radio stations are, and you need to find them. The seek button works manually. You have to keep pushing the button in to find the next radio station.

  • Program a Ford Taurus radio by tuning in the station you want. Use the scan or seek button to find a radio station. Then, push and hold in the first memory preset button. You'll hear a brief silence before you hear the station you've chosen again. Release the button. Now, to find that radio station, hit the first memory preset button to tune it in.

  • Program the remaining memory preset buttons (two to six) in the same manner. Push the power/volume knob button in again to shut the radio off.
