Motor Oil Guide for a 1993 Lexus LS 400

With Honda sporting its own luxury division in Acura, Toyota obviously felt left out and released its own luxury marque, Lexus, for the 1990 model year. In the same year, the newly founded luxury automaker released the LS 400 as the flagship of its lineup. In 1993, the LS 400 received a mild update, but it retained the 250-horsepower, 4.0-liter V-8 that the model debuted with.

Oil Recommendation

  • Lexus recommends API-certified 5W-30 engine oil in the 1993 LS 400 in all temperatures below 100 degrees F. If the outside temperature remains above 0 degrees F, 10W-30 engine oil is an acceptable alternative. In temperatures over 100 degrees F, Lexus recommends only 10W-30. Including the oil filter, the LS 400 had an oil capacity of 5.6 quarts.
