The 2008 Ford Expedition features an oil-life monitoring system that illuminates an oil-change indicator on the control panel when it determines the oil needs changing. If you have the oil changed at a Ford dealer or other garage, the mechanic will typically reset the oil-warning message. If you change the oil yourself, you can reset it yourself to make certain your Expedition will alert you when the time has come for another change of oil.
Turn the ignition switch on without starting the engine.
Press and release the "RESET" stem below the odometer until "Oil Life" and "Hold Reset" are displayed.
Press and hold the "RESET" stem until the oil life resets to "100" and the change-oil message disappears.
