The 2006 BMW 325i holds a 3.0L six-cylinder engine. The oil filter for this model is an internal filter located on the top of the engine on the driver's side and drain plug is located towards the driver's side on the oil pan.
BMW recommends the 325i use a fully synthetic SAE 5w40 oil. This weight is good for all temperatures.
Factory specifications call for a MANN Oil Filter (HU816x) or another manufacturer's equivalent. For BMW vehicles, you may want to consider an extended mileage filter for use with the synthetic oils.
The drain plug for the vehicle comes in three sizes: M22x1.5 torqued at 44.2 foot pounds of torque, M18x1.5 torqued at 25.8 foot pounds of torque, and the M12x1.5 torqued at 18.4 foot pounds of torque. The M22, M18 and M12 indicate the metric size of the plug. If your plug requires a 12mm wrench, your plug is the M12x1.5.
