How to Reset the '07 Porche 911 Carrera Oil Change Reminder

Whether you take your '07 Porsche 911 Carrera to the dealer to have the oil changed or you do it yourself in your own garage, the SIA (Service Interval Indicator) requires a reset to prevent the oil change light from coming on when it shouldn't. If the light is not on when the oil change is completed, it is not hard to forget about it: All of a sudden, maybe 328 or 1106 miles into a new oil change, the oil change light turns on. You don't need an oil change already; you need to reset your oil change reminder.

  • Push inward on the trip odometer reset button and turn the key to the auxiliary position (forward one click from the off position) until "Oil Service Re" or "Oil Service Reset" appears on the odometer screen.

  • Press the odometer reset button a second time until the work "Reset" or "Re" appears on the screen. The word will continuously flash.

  • Press the odometer reset button quickly to complete the reset. "End SIA" appears to indicate a successful reset of the system.
