How to reset the oil life monitor on you Saturn Ion. The purpose of this is so you don't have the annoying "change oil" displaying before you actually have to change the oil. This works on all model year ions, from 2003-2007!
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. There is no need to start the car.
Press the button located in the center of the instrument cluster ONCE. The display should now read "OIL LIFE" instead of vehicle mileage.
Press and hold the button for 3 seconds or until you hear the chime, the display should say "RESET?". Let go of the button and press the button one more time, but do not hold it, to confirm that you want to reset.
You're Done!! You have just reset the oil life monitor on your Saturn Ion!! Now you don't have to worry about it randomly telling you that you need to change you oil.
