Going fast requires a low roll center, while crawling demands improved ground clearance and stability. Pro Comp found the sweet spot and then refined it further for an awesome arrangement in each venue.

In a perfect world the average Jeep buyer could saunter into any local dealership and purchase a vehicle worthy of engaging any type of terrain. His new ride would conquer go-fast desert two-track with remarkable similarity to the way it would glide through the Rubicon trail. The whole package would feel right at home delivering the kiddies to daycare or while towing the pontoon boat to that mountain retreat for summer fun. Yes, a perfect world would let Jeep enthusiasts have it all and never worry about abandoning the factory warranty. Consumers would relish in the fact that leaving the showroom meant scoring the perfect rig for any topography. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, that is why Pro Comp created the new Dual Sport suspension system for Jeep Wrangler JKs. Inspired by technology found under Baja racers, Pro Comp added a whole assortment of proven concepts that allow the new Wrangler to achieve greater speeds across the rough stuff while remaining as capable as ever in the rocks. Is it the best of both worlds? We think so.

One of the coolest options available for this new suspension system is Pro Comp's MX2.0B Air Bump. This 2-inch air bump is loaded with heavy-duty features and is totally rebuildable. They have 4 inches of travel to minimize impact harshness under extreme off-road conditions. It also increases the spring rate during hard cornering. The packaging of the air bump is cleanly integrated into the stock bumpstop location inside the coil spring, giving it plenty of protection and eliminating any possible clearance issues during wheel travel.

The new Dual Sport long-arm suspension system for the JK features Pro Comp's exclusive cast-iron steering knuckle. This unique component is a heavy-duty replacement for the passenger-side OE knuckle with some added benefits. The new knuckle raises the mounting point for the steering drag link to match the raised track bar. This minimizes bumpsteer, delivers superior road feel, and eliminates the need for a drop pitman arm..

PhotosView Slideshow Whether it's going fast in the desert or crawling slowly over slick rock, you need good shocks. That's why Pro Comp partnered up with Fox Racing Shox to develop a high-performance remote-reservoir package. These proprietary shocks, in conjunction with Pro Comps optimized rear five-link geometry and the optional pneumatic bumpstops, allow the Wrangler JK a whole new level in performance. Note the 2-inch hydraulic bumpstop inside the coil spring just beyond the disconnected sway bar. These little guys remove the harshness from a hard bottom-out. A look under Pro Comp's JK Unlimited reveals a flush bellypan with fasteners that tuck up tightly to the reinforced skidplates. Deflective angles help prevent snags, allowing the undercarriage of this JK to slide over obstacles with ease. Articulation is only half of what motivates Pro Comp's engineers. These boxed lower front control arms are fabricated from steel plate just like the ones you'd find under trophy trucks. Each arm is massive compared to the tubular style arms found under other kits and each features exterior fish-plate gusseting for durability and appearance. Constructed from 3/16-inch steel sheet, this design adds significant strength, allowing the suspension to cycle rapidly without coming apart. These will also survive a forceful blow without deflecting or bending. We drove Pro Comp's new Dual Sport-equipped JK over some fast desert roads and found ourselves giggling about how well the rig soaked up bumps. Absent were the traditional weight transfers during hard cornering, and thanks to the hydraulic bumpstops, even the worst cross-grain felt like mild speed bumps on pavement. This is the complete Wrangler JK Dual Sport suspension system from Pro Comp. The kit features aerospace-grade, high-angle rod ends and long-lasting polyurethane bushings. Adjustable-length front upper arms are included to optimize pinion angle and alignment specifications. The high-clearance bellypan integrates link-arm attachment points for the lower arms and adds chassis rigidity. A removable center pan allows easy service access for the transmission and transfer case. The system will clear 37-inch tires on 8- or 9-inch-wide wheels. Standard kits come with Pro Comp's ES9000 twin-tube shocks while the optional Fox remote-reservoir package puts this kit in a league all its own. Additionally Pro Comp offers 2.0 hydraulic bumpstops for each corner to raise the bar even further. All in all, Pro Comp's latest innovations redefine performance and allow JK owners the best of both worlds-and that, friends, is as close to perfection as it's going to get. The rear lower link arms also share the boxed architecture of the fronts. Notice the way Pro Comp located the upper mount above the framerails, protecting the crucial pivot point as well as preventing hang-ups. Pro Comp offers upgraded front and rear driveshafts with traditional style 1310 U-joints to work with the Dual Sport system.
