I am looking to upgrade my 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ with a HEMI V-8 for some much needed power. So far I have not found a company that makes a kit that seems to have everything and has a good reputation. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you.

James, with aftermarket manufacturers now focused on developing parts for the Wrangler JK, some companies have ceased production of their TJ HEMI conversion kits. Many shops still specialize in completing turnkey swaps, but they typically require that they do the installation on site, which adds labor and vehicle shipping costs to an already expensive conversion. One company that does still offer a Wrangler TJ HEMI conversion kit is Jeep Speed Shop [(707) 338-3154, www.jeepspeedshop.com] in Cotati, California. The kit is available for 1997-to-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and Wrangler Unlimited LJ and is designed to use a 2003-to-2008 5.7L HEMI truck engine and 545RFE transmission. The kit includes a custom wiring harness, computer, an aluminum radiator, engine mounts, trans mount, AC lines, and a gas pedal mount. Many other parts, including a 5.7L HEMI engine and 545RFE trans are required to complete the conversion and Jeep Speed Shop offers a complete parts list with part numbers of the required items. Some are available through Jeep Speed Shop or they can be sourced from your local dealership, parts house, or salvage yard. Jeep Speed Shop also specializes in Jeep Wrangler JK HEMI conversions and Chevrolet LS engine conversions. Do-it-yourself kits are available for these conversions as well.
