2000 BMW 323i Engine Size

Traditionally, BMW named its cars in a manner that matched the engine size -- the 325 had a 2.5-liter engine and the 328 had a 2.8-liter engine, for example. When Bimmer released the 323, however, it did not fit the new model with a 2.3-liter engine, as tradition would suggest. In 2000, the 323 was available in coupe, convertible and sedan variants, and they all used the same engine.
