The HANS Adjustable, which meets the SFI Foundation's Spec. 38.1 for head-and-neck restraints, enables all drivers, including young competitors, to purchase a HANS with full confidence of a comfortable fit, no matter what type of car or racing seat they use. Previously, customers ordered a HANS Device in a fixed angle according to the driver's physical size and type of seating position in the car, such as an upright seat in stock cars or a reclined seat in Open Wheel machines.
"Because it's adjustable in 5-degree increments, this new HANS will improve the fit and comfort for all racers, including young competitors," said Gary Milgrom, vice president of HANS Performance Products. "Our goal is to bring the award-winning safety of HANS to all drivers in any type of car, especially the weekend warriors and youth competitors."
HPP is no stranger to providing head-and-neck restraint to children and young drivers either. HPP made a special HANS Device to fit Joey Logano, when the future NASCAR star was just 12 years old. In 2005, HPP introduced the first Super Small device specifically with young competitors in mind. The Super Small Sport currently sells at an entry-level price of $399 to help enable all parents provide proper safety to their children when competing in auto racing.
