AEM Introduces the First Dual Capacitor CDI Ignition Module! AEM announced the release of its new Multi-Channel C2DI Twin-Capacitive Ignition Module, affirming the company's commitment to developing breakthrough electronics products for the automotive performance industry. "There is no request for power that the C2DI can't handle," said John Romero, head of AEM's Performance Electronics Division. "There are truly no timing constraints with the unit, even the spark demands of a rotary engine is handled by a single module!"

The AEM C2DI is the lightest (1.5lbs), smallest (5.5" x 4.625" x1.375") and most cost-effective ignition module on the market. This unit is available in four- and eight-channel configurations, and is ideal for applications that utilize ANY aftermarket stand-alone engine management system.

AEM's Multi-Channel C2DI Ignition Module is the only Capacitive Discharge Ignition System available with two capacitors, and it produces more spark energy and spark voltage per spark than any other available CDI unit. AEM's exclusive Twin-Cap technology stores the energy for two distinct spark events and allows for full spark energy of each individual spark plug. It can even be utilized on rotary engines using separate leading and trailing ignition maps.

Among the C2DI's key features is its ability to produce 189mJ spark energy per capacitor, its capability to produce 540v primary/54,000v secondary voltage energy, and it's Multi-Strike capability of up to ten sparks per ignition trigger. Full spark energy can be achieved with battery voltage as low as 9v with the AEM C2DI, and each unit includes a tachometer output.

AEM products are Engineered To Outperform. The company designs and manufactures high-quality street and race performance products that are distributed worldwide. AEM headquarters is based in Hawthorne, California.
