Alpine Electronics Perfect Fit Solution

On average, Americans spend nearly 11 hours in their vehicles each week. If you extrapolate that out, that is over 2,600 hours a year. With that much time being spent, it is no wonder why there is such a huge demand for aftermarket audio accessories. The problem is, as technology increases, the OEMs seem to be making it more difficult to modify the factory audio system, especially the head unit. Take the 2009-2012 F-150 for example. The factory head unit is integrated seamlessly with the HVAC controls, the hazard button, the traction control button, the Sync USB and audio ports, and the cigarette lighter. With all of these integrated into the same faceplate, it is impossible to add an aftermarket head unit without heavy modification to the faceplate. Luckily, Alpine Electronics has developed a new line of products called the Perfect Fit Solution. Basically, this is a new faceplate for the dash that pairs nicely with their 8-inch touchscreen head units. That was not a typo either; these things are a massive 8 inches. We combined this deck with all new Alpine speakers and subs for a premium audio experience. Follow along to see how we changed this Blue Oval's stereo from bland to an audiophile's dream.   |   1. We decided to start with the door speakers, as they would essentially be plug-and-play. After removing several screws the door panel was slid up and away from the vehicle.
