| Before - We liked our old setup and the MTX 4500-series subs sounded good, but there's always room for improvement, right?
Bass is like free money. Everyone loves it and if you don't, you're probably too old. Our Project Sinatra F-150 was booming thanks to three 10-inch MTX 4500 series subwoofers in a sealed box built by Audio Toyz in Las Flores, California. The bass sounded great, but like all things, we couldn't leave well enough alone and wanted more. Due to the tight confines behind our rear seat, we opted to keep the well-built fiberglassed box and instead, try out some of MTX's newest subwoofers. Our application didn't require the ultra-thin shallow mount subs, but the new MTX Thunder Round subs would fit the ticket nicely. To get the slightly deeper subs -less than 1/4-inch- to clear the back cab wall, we contacted Audio Toyz once again to build us a wooden spacer. It may not sound exciting, but we took the wooden piece and had our friends at South County Customs, in Lake Forest, California, smooth and paint the piece to match. It really made a huge difference in the look of our sub box.

Sound is really what new speakers are all about and our new bass providers didn't disappoint. The new MTX Thunder Round 10-inch subs have an 18-ounce larger coil with a lower tuning frequency. What this means to you is, the bass hits harder and the lower notes are lower and stronger. A more appealing design element also helps with our project truck's looks. From The Driver SeatIt didn't take much time, once we had all of the parts, to make Project Sinatra boom with the best of them. The new Thunder Round subs from MTX pound and with some blue paint behind the seat, now it's even more fun to lean the seats forward and show off the system. For right at $300, this much bass is a great value.
