Now available from TTS, these forged pistons are designed for high-performance use in diesel competition engines that are subjected to extreme cylinder pressures. Due to their forged construction (production Duaramax pistons are cast-aluminum), the TTS pistons have no oil-cooling galley. Instead, they are plated (not coated) with a heat-rejecting substance called Black Magic that was designed for the aerospace industry. The pistons are available in two different compression ratios (15:1 and 17:1), and five different bore sizes: stock, 0.010-inch overbore, 0.020-inch overbore, 0.030-inch overbore, and 0.040-inch overbore.
