Product Spotlight: Peripheral Electronics Backup Video Cameras

Peripheral Electronics has released four different backup-camera interface modules for select GM, Nissan, Honda, and Infiniti trucks and SUVs. The modules interface with factory-installed navigation units to automatically provide a video backup camera monitor when the vehicle is put into reverse. The four modules are vehicle-specific and are currently available for order with an MSRP of $449.99. The modules will be showcased at SEMA 2008 in November and CES in January 2009. 2008 Nissan Titan rear Driver Side View   |   2008 Nissan Titan rear Driver Side View Installation of the backup video camera interface modules consists of a "brain box" with two composite RCA video inputs, which facilitates the switching between the navigation unit's normal functions and the backup camera. A plug-in harness is all that's needed, and once the backup camera is mounted, the system is ready to go. Reverting to the vehicle's original configuration is simple with this plug-and-play system.
