Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Accident, uninsured motorist coverage, court judgement

Question
Hi! I was rear-ended by an uninsured drunk driver and got pushed into an insured drunk driver in December. I did not have uninsured motorist on my car at the time. This is complicated but both of these drivers are at fault and my car was completely totalled and I have injuries from it. Neither person is contacting anyone regarding this accident. I have kept up with my claims adjuster and he says he is doing all he can. I want the claim settled so I can get the rest of my money so I can purchase a new vehicle. Is there any other way to go about this?

Answer
Hi Mindy,

If neither of the other drivers had any insurance coverage and you had no uninsured motorist coverage, I do not understand where you think any additional money is comming from. Besides your collision coverage, the onoy way to get any additional money is to file suit against the at fault drivers. Even if you get a court judgement you would then have to collect it. If the driver has no money you may have to chase him for years in order to get any money.

Your collisoin coverage should have paid you the fair market value of your car. If they are not making a fair offer, then you may need to hire an appraiser to assist in in receiving proper compensation. If that is the case you may want to visit www.collisionclaims.com .

I hope this helps
