Auto Insurance Claims: Car not properly fixed after comming back from shop, rear end, rental car

Question
I recently got my car back from the body shop.
My car was in for a simple rear end bumper fix with trunk damage .
So, i got my car back and they forgot to allign it and i just noticed that my rear door does not close flush.....
So i called them and we set up a date to have the car fixed again.
So i know that the alignment can be done in a day but the door will take longer, do they have to pay for a rental for me?????

Answer
Hi Timothy,

Yes. You should call the shop and tell them that when you bring your car back in that you will need a rental and that you expect them to pay for it. Ask them who they use that will bill them directly for the rental.

Even though the shop is responsible to pay for the rental, you will likely still need to provide a credit card to secure the car. The shop is not responsible to pay for the rental companies insurance on the rental car. Your auto insurance should cover you while in a rental car bt you should call them to be sure.

I hope this helps
