Auto Insurance Claims: Insurance rate change, seperate company, claims history

Question
We have a separate policy with a seperate company (from my wifes and mine) for my daughters car. I am listed as the primary insured and my wife and daughter are listed as
additional insureds. My daughter backed into someone and it looks like we will have to file a claim. Will this claim affect my rates at some point or will it just be charged against my daughter? We have moved to put the daughter on her own policy completly but that does not change what has happened.

Thanks ,
Tom

Answer
Hi Tom,

If your daughter is also listed as a driver on your and your wife's policy, then your daughter's driving record and claims history will affect your policy. If she is no on your policy at all, then she will not affect your policy.

I hope this helps
