and registered in in my business trade name and insured it with full coverage. date of purchase aprox.6/02. it was stolen in 10/02. my drivers license was suspended when i bought it and when it was stolen,i was paying a licensed driver to drive me and still am.the insurance company refused to pay the claim because my license was suspended at the time the insurance policy
was bought, and deemed the policy invalid.do i have a valid claim and is there a statute of limitations.

Answer
Hi John,

Depending on your state, the statute of limitations would generally be anywhere from 2 years to 4 years. So if your claim was in 2002 it would long since have passed.

You may want to contact an attorney that specializes in insurance company bad faith claims. It may be possible that you can still fight their denial in spite of the statute of limitations.

I hope this helps
