Auto Insurance Claims: Insurance coverage for teen, toyota corolla 2002, chrysler minivan

Question
We have a daughter that will soon turn 16. Expecting the insurance company to want her listed as the primany driver for one of our vehicles, which one would be the least expensive: 2007 Toyota Corolla, 2002 Chrysler minivan, or 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup (2WD, auto, club cab, 6 cy).  Would coverage extend to the other two if she would happen to be driving them occasionally?

Answer
Hi Donald,
With 3 vehicles and 3 drivers this means that one vehicle will always be available for your daughters use, therefore she will be considered
as a primary driver.
As a named driver on the policy she will be able to drive any of the 3 vehicles.
Some companies will place the charge on the vehicle that you state is
the one that she principally uses, others will place the charges on
whichever vehicle generates the largest premium for the company.
I suggest that you call your agent and ask which method your company
uses and get an approximate cost as you might want to shop price
with other companies.
I hope that you find this information to be of help.  Your feedback by
rating my response will be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Bennie
