Auto Insurance Claims: hit and run, fault insurance, strugling

can any1 help me? i was involved in ahit and run,luckly there was a police officer at the scene and witnessed the accident. the only problem is the 3rd partys engineer viewed my car,and hes sayin that the damage to my vehicle compared with the other vehicle dont match.hes trying to say that the other driver could not have done that much damage to my vehicle,may be he has got his car repaired? i jus want knw wat hapens naw,as i am a family man strugling without a car thanks!!!

Hi James,

You simply have to argue the point. The fact that the police officer witnessed the accident should help. Tell the at-fault insurance company to call the police officer for a statement. That should clear things up.

If this does not work, you may have to file the claim on your own insurance to get your car repaired. They they will argue with the at-fault insurance for reimbursement.
