Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Defroster, vacuum line, blower unit

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup and am not able to switch the blower function from defroster to any other setting. The control knob turns and appears to be functioning ok. The blower unit blows normal but all the air if forced into the defrost position. Is this an electrical problem or what.

What mechanical work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made.


This is usually a vacuum fault. Locate the vacuum line that goes from the engine compartment thru the firewall and into the interior of the vehcile. Look CLOSE as sometimes it is hidden inside of the wiring harnesses that pass thru the firewall.
