Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: air conditioning recharge, r 134a refrigerant, vacuum pump

Question
I have to replace the accumulator/drier from my car, what I have to do to recharge the system

Answer
You are going to need the following:

(1) a vacuum pump.
(2) a set of A/C guages.
(3) approximately 2 ounces of R-134a refrigerant oil.
(4) approximately 2 to 4 cans of R-134a refrigerant (freon).
(5) A new receiver/drier also called an accumulator.
(6) New "O" rings for connecting the accumulator.
(7) STRONGLY recommend replacing the ORFICE TUBE.
(8) a refrigerant CAN TAP that screws onto the cans of
freon and where you connect your charge hose to.

Since every MAKE, YEAR, and MODEL of vehicle utilize different amounts of refrigerant oil and freon you will need to get your vehicles specifications of the EXACT amount required.

If you are not very familiar with A/C repair I STRONGLY recommend that you bite the bullet on this one and have it done by a professional.

If you install to LITTLE or to MUCH refrigerant oil you can destroy the compressor. If you install to LITTLE or to MUCH freon you can also damage/destroy the compressor.

Refrigerant is VERY DANGEROUS should it get on your skin or in your eyes where PERMANENT skin and or eye damage can occur.
