Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: heater core, core leak, autohelp

Question
My car is a 1997 grand am. I stop for a light and steam came out of the defroster. Now it does not hold fluid. I got under the car and found what looked like a hose barb fitting, this had fluid cdoming out of it. I have no idea what this fitting goes to and I hope you can help. The motor is a 2.4L

The condensation (water) that you are experiencing on the inside of the windshield, Does it have a SWEET smell and or TASTE to it ?. If it does, You have the very common problem of a heater core leak of which will require replacement of the heater core.
