Auto body repair & detailing: my Honda accord 2002 hit a deer and got damage on the front hood and light, honda accord 2002, auto body shop

Question
Hi My honda accord 2002 got hit by a deer and go damage in front hood and
bumper and front left light only. I got estimate from my insurance company but
I am not sure to give to a dealer shop or to a auto body shop as I am debating
what do you think which one is better. Are the honda accord parts easily
available to a auto body shop or not

Answer
Hi Naved. Perfect question!

First; The choice is all yours. That's the nice part. An insurance company is obligated to work with the shop of your choice. The difference between a dealer and an independent body shop is that the dealer may do more repairs more often on a specific make. Benefits could be in the warranty, the turn around time and that they are associated with a dealership that wants to see you buy a car in the future. Another words you can make a complaint all the way to the top if you are dissatisfied. Downside; dealers get very busy and are overloaded often with warranty work from new and used car sales. I don't know where your cars priority fits in at the dealer you are thinking of going to. As for a bodyshop; pick a great one. One that was referred to you by family or friends who had a great experience. They will get Honda parts very quickly. Especially your 02 Honda. Parts and warranty is usually a lifetime now a days, so you are protected. The quality is usually better if you choose a reputable shop. Downside is minimized when you select a shop that was recommended to you by several people. Their products will be good, warranty will be a lifetime and customer service you will learn the minute you arrive.

Good Luck Naved; Pick one, turn it over to them and trust. Don't over think it to much. Let the history of friends and family experience decide.

Have a great day! Get it fixed!
