Auto body repair & detailing: deer hit, wheel allignment, wheel alignment

Question
Hi, hit a deer, body shop replaced the following front bumper cover, bumper absorber, headlamp assy, hood, right fender, and repaired the door.question owner says no suspension damage and wheel alignment are good, should all of his statements be documented on the work order?

Answer
Wheel allignment and such is the responsibility of the insurance company, not the body shop. He is stating his personal opinion, one I agree with. Deer hits seldom result in any suspension damage, unless the vehicle ran off into a ditch or something. If this happened, the accident report should reflect this, and you should tell your insurance adjuster of possible secondary damage. You need co contact the insurance company if you want them to do an allignment, but i suspect you will have a difficult time getting them to pay for one. Why not just pay to have an allignment done at an allignment shop? They will inspect it for damage, and have better tools and equipment to handle  and diagnose any potential problems. bill
