-----Question-----
Hi, I read other questions sent to you regarding )2 sensors, and that you are a
late-model guru, but with no where else to turn, i'll float my question your
way.

I have a 2.7L from a 1983 or 84 325e (German model) and 5speed manual
transmission installed in my 1989 Ford Ranger.  Yes, I do.  And all is great,
except...can't figure out where to plug the O2 sensor into the harness!!  The
only part of the BMW wiring in use is the engine specific stuff, so, much of the
BMW harness simply doesn't exist.  I've scoured through every BMW book I
can get my hands on, but of course, they assume that you are replacing a
worn sensor, NOT doing what I am doing.  So, there's no specific mention of
where it actually sends its signal to the engine.  So, much question is, what
pins on the BMW Motronic actually receive the signal from the sensor? If i
knew that i could simply fabricate a cable to attach them directly.  Thanks for
any help you can send my way, even if its just to redirect me to another
expert out there.  -dan
-----Answer-----
Dan, the factory manual for 325e for 84'-86' shows the O2 sensor input
signal wire black wire that transfers to Green in the harness on pin 24 of the
DME control unit. Pin 23 is a shielding that raps around the signal wire all the
way up to the O2 sensor. White wire at the sensor is heater input and turns
into green/blue from the O2 heater relay. White wire at sensor that turns to
brown goes to ground. Please fill out a follow up survey with a glowing review
if this info helps you out.

Answer
Dan, The green/blue wire at the relay is supposed to turn white at the O2 sensor connector (Power from the heater relay). Brown wire is ground for the heater. Location show on bracket in front of left front shock tower closest to P/S resevoir. Thanks
