Auto body repair & detailing: chrome paint, plastic lens, sand paper

Question
hello
my cousin wants to paint an exterior plastic lens chrome and wants to know what he would have to do as far as prep, sanding, primer, paint, clear, etc. thank you

Answer
I would sand the part you want to paint with some 400 grit sand paper. Then use a 3M red scuff pad and make sure the areas that you couldn't get with the sand paper are scuffed as well. Then apply 2-3 coats of plastic primer and let dry. Scuff part with a gray 3M scuff pad making sure to get the whole part. Your now ready for paint.
            Thank you for the question!
