Auto body repair & detailing: Moldings around car windows., spray paint, rubbing compound

Question
Ken,

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer.  The paint finish is fine but the black moldings around the windows is fading.  Is there any product that I can use to restore the color.  It still looks black but is very dull and it doesn't help to wax them.

Thanks,
Marlene Matter

Answer
Try buffing with a little rubbing compound. And if that won't work buy a spray can of flat black spray paint from a Napa type store. Then mask off the areas that need paint. Then scuff areas with a gray 3M scuff pad. Then tack areas with a tack cloth and apply 2-3 coats of paint. walla good as new.
                Thank you for the question!
