Hello Ken, I am wondering if you can give me some advice on how I can fix my jeep. It is a 1991 jeep wrangler and the bottom door hinge area is totaly rusted out thta I cannot use the door anymore. I have read other responces that say you must take out atleast 1 inch beyond the rust , well that would leave me with a bend around the door seal area how do you form it around like that. any info would be greatly appreciated. yes you should cut a patch a inch around the rust and the rust cut out or patched over. You can bend the metal before you put it on the vehicle using a tape measure to get the right size and the edge of a two by four to bend the metal over the edge. Something harder like a steel work bench works best. just clamp the metal on the edge and pound on it with a hammer starting on one side and work your way to the other end.
