Auto body repair & detailing: Ford Thunderbird Headlights, 1996 ford thunderbird, ford thunderbird

Question
I have a 1996 Ford Thunderbird. The plastic headlight len covers have fogged up to a milky white color, which is acting like a defuser and causing my headlight to not shine a direct beam as they should. My bright lights are less intense than the low beam headlight on my wife's car or my van. Is there anything I can do to clean up the lenses?

Answer
You want to try to compound them 1st with reg rubbing compound. thats what i use . sometimes it works .sometimes it don't . or you could go to pep boys/auto zone and buy higher watt bulbs.this will put more light out . your lens are doing like most platic lens do they are fadding out like old paint.only other thing is to replace them with new . you do not have to go to a dealer for them . you can buy them after market . just check with a locol bodyshop . and ask them for aftermarket light buckets. they are cheaper . and just as good as o.e. m. ones
hope this helps you
